Default order ticket settings that quietly change the trade

The order ticket's default values can differ from what the trader expects. A default stop or take profit expressed in points instead of pips, a default deviation set by a previous session, or a leftover lot size from earlier testing can all cause mistakes.
One-click trading uses preset values from a panel. If those presets were changed during another task, the next click carries the wrong parameters. The consequence may be a larger position than intended, or a stop far from the planned level.
Check the defaults at the start of each session. Look at lot size, stop and target, slippage tolerance, and order type. Make it part of the pre-session routine.
For EAs, parameters stored in templates can be overwritten when a new template is applied. Verify the inputs after any change.
A good habit is to place a tiny test trade at the start, if appropriate, to confirm that everything behaves as expected.
Small details at the ticket level cause large problems when multiplied by hundreds of trades.
Which default setting has surprised the trader most often?
