Symbol suffixes and the account type confusion

Many brokers list the same pair several times with suffixes: EURUSD, EURUSD.m, EURUSD.ecn, EURUSDpro. Each can represent a different account type, a different liquidity pool, or a different spread and commission structure.
An EA that trades the wrong symbol variant may be paying a wider spread, or hitting a different execution model than intended. Charts may look identical, but fills do not.
The confusion is greatest when several account types share one login server. A symbol in the market watch might belong to the standard feed, while the raw spread version sits under a different suffix.
Check which suffix matches the account's intended pricing, and confirm by comparing spreads and commission on a few trades. Make sure the EA is configured with the correct symbol name and that it does not auto-detect and choose a suboptimal variant.
Also be aware that history data can differ between suffixes. A backtest on one version may not reflect trading on another.
Which symbol suffix is the one with the proper spread and commission on the account in use?
