Asian-session scalpers pay for it with sleep, and it shows in the trades

Scalping Tokyo from a European or American time zone means being awake when the body wants to rest. A few late nights, and the effect shows up in the trading log before it shows in the mirror.

Sleep-deprived decision-making gets worse in a particular way. Risk perception shrinks. Impulsive choices go up. Patience goes down. All three are bad for a method built on small, repeated edges.

Typical signs include more trades than planned in the last hour, a tendency to move stops instead of respecting them, and a slow reaction to obvious exits.

The trade-off is a real one. The Asian session may suit a particular pair or a particular strategy, and the opportunity cost of skipping it may be genuine. But a tired trader in a good session often does worse than a rested one in a mediocre session.

A consistent sleep schedule, even a strange one, tends to beat an irregular one. Shifting the whole day to fit the session, instead of squeezing the session into a normal day, helps a lot.

Has the session schedule ever been changed for the sake of sleep, and did results change?
