Trading the Asian session when it lands in the middle of the night

For anyone in a UTC+0 or UTC+1 timezone, the liquid part of the Asian session lands in the dead of night. Tokyo's open is around 00:00 UTC, so the first couple of hours after it fall between 1 and 3 a.m. local time. The market is available. The scalper is the weak link.
The usual failure is the split night: sleep from 8 p.m., alarm at 12:30 a.m., trade until 4 or 5 a.m., then a broken second sleep. Alertness the next day suffers, and the day session then gets traded badly. A strategy that earns its edge in decision quality cannot afford that loss.
Some adjustments that tend to help:
- Trade one defined window, say 90 minutes after the Tokyo open, then stop and go back to bed instead of staying for the whole session
- Limit night sessions to two or three a week rather than every day
- Skip the night entirely after a short sleep, since a missed session costs less than a sloppy one
- Remember that quieter markets produce fewer setups per hour, so a long night buys little
A few hours of tired trading can easily cost more than the setups it finds.
Has anyone kept a night-session schedule going for months, and did the stats from those nights hold up against daytime sessions?
