A written plan for when the platform freezes mid-trade

The worst time to decide what to do about a frozen terminal is while a position is open and price is moving. Decisions made in that state tend to be bad. A short written plan, taped near the screen, removes the guesswork.
What the plan should hold:
- Stops always sit on the server, never only in the platform's head. A stop that exists only in an indicator or script vanishes with the connection
- The broker's mobile app is installed, logged in and tested weekly, so that closing from a phone takes seconds
- The dealing desk phone number is saved somewhere reachable, with the account number written next to it
- A second internet path exists, such as a phone hotspot, and its use has been practised
- A rule for the first move: close, hedge or leave it with its stop, decided in advance per strategy
Afterwards, record the exact time, take screenshots, and open a support ticket with timestamps while the details are fresh. Brokers respond far better to a precise report than to a angry email.
Run a drill once a month by pulling the cable on a demo session. It feels silly until the day it matters.
What is the first action in your outage plan, and has it ever been tested with a live position?
