Eye strain is a risk-management issue for scalpers

Nobody likes the ergonomics lecture, but screen fatigue shows up in the trade log before it shows up as a headache. Mis-clicks, wrong lot size, a stop dragged the wrong way: these are execution errors, and they get more frequent when the eyes and the neck are tired.

Small setup changes beat willpower. Put the top of the monitor at or slightly below eye level and keep roughly an arm's length of distance. Match screen brightness to the room instead of running a bright chart in a dark room. Dark chart themes with softer contrast tend to be easier on the eyes over several hours, though people differ on that. Blinking drops when staring at fast price action, so artificial tears or a deliberate pause between setups can help.

Breaks work better when tied to events than to a clock. Stand up after two consecutive losses, after any trade that breaks the rules, and after every 60 to 90 minutes regardless. A short walk costs a few missed setups, which is cheap compared to one oversized order.

Then test it: tag each error in the journal with the hour of the session and see where they cluster.

Do your worst execution errors cluster late in the session, or earlier than expected?
