Demo account fills are kinder than reality for a reason

Demo servers usually run on cleaner liquidity, lighter load, and fewer participants. Orders fill quickly, slippage is rare, and rejections almost never occur. A trader who judges a scalping strategy on demo results gets a flattering picture.

The difference grows in fast conditions. During news, demo prices may keep updating smoothly while the live feed would have thinned out and widened. A strategy that appears to handle volatility well on demo may fall apart live.

Some brokers also fill demo orders at the quoted price every time, since no real liquidity provider is involved. That removes the entire execution problem from the test.

The best use of demo is checking mechanics: that the platform behaves, that the script works, that the logic is correct. Judging profitability needs live fills, even at tiny size.

Comparing results between demo and a small live account for the same strategy quantifies the gap. The number is rarely small.
