The first hour after the weekly open belongs to nobody

Trading from the Sunday evening open until the Asian session settles is a different game. Quotes are sparse, spreads are wide, and the order flow is dominated by a handful of participants repositioning after the weekend.
Prices in that window can swing sharply on tiny volume, producing candles that look meaningful but are not. A pin bar or a breakout during those minutes may attract setups that fail the moment normal liquidity returns.
There is also a data problem. Many platforms record fewer ticks in thin periods, so charts look smoother than the real price path, hiding gaps that actually happened. Entries based on those charts are built on incomplete information.
A small number of traders do specialise in the weekly open, usually focusing on gaps from weekend news and trading very small size with wide stops. For most scalpers, the better move is waiting an hour or two and letting the market form a real structure.
Has the weekly open ever produced anything useful, or is waiting always the better call?
