Thin pairs trade on order flow that looks nothing like the majors

EURUSD gets thousands of participants and constant two-way flow. Something like USDSEK or EURCZK might see a handful of dealers quoting with large gaps between trades. The behaviour is different in kind, not just degree.
Price can sit still for a minute, then jump 8 pips on a single order. Candles look like staircases, with long flat stretches and sudden steps. Standard indicators built on smooth price assumptions throw out bizarre signals, and moving averages lag in ways that make no sense.
Spreads are wide because dealers carry more risk holding inventory in a thin market. Stop orders are particularly dangerous, since the next available price after a trigger can be far from the level.
That does not make thin pairs unusable, but they need different tools. Wider stops, smaller size, longer holding periods, and a hard look at costs are all required. Treating them like a more volatile EURUSD tends to end badly.
Has any thin pair been traded successfully, and what adjustments made the difference compared with the majors?
