Rollover day-after quirks that surprise careful traders

The hour after rollover is not the only problem. Some quirks show up the following day, and they catch careful scalpers off guard.

Overnight swaps can change without notice. Brokers adjust them based on interest rate moves, and a position that earned positive swap last week might charge it this week. For scalpers it rarely matters, but it matters for anyone holding positions across several sessions.

Daily candle boundaries also vary. Broker servers define the day's open and close at slightly different times, so daily highs, lows, and pivots can differ between platforms. A level calculated on one broker's chart may not match another's by a few pips.

Server time itself shifts with daylight saving. A morning routine tied to the server clock can start an hour off for several weeks before anyone notices.

Writing down the platform's session boundaries, daylight saving behaviour, and rollover time takes ten minutes and saves a lot of confusion.
