A mobile hotspot as a backup is cheaper than one bad disconnect

Home internet fails more often than most traders admit. A router crash, an outage in the neighbourhood, or an ISP maintenance window can cut the connection at the worst time.
A phone hotspot or a dedicated 4G router offers a cheap fallback. Switching takes a minute, and many routers can fail over automatically. Latency is higher and less stable than a wired line, but it is good enough for closing positions or managing a trade.
The backup also needs testing. A hotspot that has never been tried might not connect in the trading room because of weak signal, or might hit a data limit. Testing once a month removes surprises.
Another layer is a VPS. If the platform runs there, the home connection only matters for monitoring, and a dropout does not affect the open trades. Mobile platform access then serves as a second view, and a means to close positions.
The cost of all this is small compared with a single unmanaged position during an outage.
What backup connection is ready, and has it ever been needed in a live session?
