Cent accounts behave differently from standard ones

Cent accounts let traders use tiny position sizes, making them popular for testing strategies with real money. But they are not always identical to standard accounts in execution.

Some brokers route cent accounts differently, with wider spreads, slower fills, or different liquidity. A strategy that works on a cent account may behave differently on a standard one.

The psychological effect also differs. With very small amounts, the pressure is low, and behaviour under real stakes may not show up.

Using a cent account to test mechanics, like fill quality, platform behaviour, and basic strategy logic, is sensible. Using it to predict emotional performance at full size is less reliable.

Comparing execution data between cent and standard accounts, if the broker offers both, shows how much they differ. The gap helps interpret test results.

Treat any cent account result as a mechanical test only, and confirm it again with a small standard account before scaling anything up.

Has a cent account been used for testing, and did results transfer to a standard account?
