Requotes and rejections are not the same problem

Plenty of people lump these together, but they point to different things and need different fixes.

A requote means the broker came back with a new price and asked for confirmation. It happens mostly on instant execution accounts and usually tells you the quoted price moved before the order was processed. A rejection is a flat "no", often with an off-quotes or invalid price message, and it can come from liquidity running dry, from the price being outside the allowed deviation, or from the trade server being overloaded.

The patterns look different in the logs. Requotes cluster around fast moves and often repeat two or three times in a row. Rejections can show up randomly during quiet markets too, which usually hints at a server or connection problem instead of a market problem.

Keeping a tally for a couple of weeks, with the time, pair, and error text, makes the difference obvious. Without that record, every failed order just gets blamed on "the broker" and nothing improves.

Which one hurts more in practice, a requote that costs a pip or a rejection that costs the whole move?
