Stops filled outside the candle
It looks impossible. A stop loss gets hit at a price beyond the high or low of the candle shown on the chart. The platform says the fill was at 1.0872. The chart high says 1.0868.
Several things can cause this. The chart displays the bid price. A short position closes at the ask, so the fill price can exceed the bid high by the spread. Another cause is that the chart history is built from the ticks the platform received, and the platform may have missed some ticks during a fast move.
A third cause is slippage from a stop that triggered at one price and was filled at the next available price. The tick that filled it may not have made it onto the chart at all.
The upshot is that screenshots of the chart do not prove the broker is cheating, and also do not prove the broker is honest. The only reliable record is the tick log from the server, which most brokers will provide on request.
Asking for it is reasonable, particularly after a fill that looks out of line.
Has a broker ever supplied tick data to explain a fill that fell outside the chart range, and did the explanation hold up?
