red scalp at -3: debt to repay or a fresh decision?

Same trade, two framings.

Framing A says: already down 3 pips, closing makes it real, waiting might get it back. The 3 pips get treated like a debt that only a recovery can repay, and the position turns into a project.

Framing B says: flat is the starting point, so would a new trade be opened right here with this stop? The 3 pips are gone either way. The only live question is where price goes next.

A test for which framing is running: picture the balance reset to what it was before the trade, with no position open. Would the same entry be taken? If not, the position is being held for a reason that has nothing to do with the chart.

Fair caveat: B isn't always right. Sometimes a trade sits at -3 with the setup still valid and the stop untouched. Holding that isn't sunk cost thinking, it's the plan. The difference is whether the stop was fixed before entry or invented afterwards.

Scalps are the worst place for this because the loss is small enough that closing feels silly. A 3-pip loss becomes a 9-pip loss through a series of "ok, just a bit more".

When a scalp goes red, which framing is the default in the first ten seconds?
