Questions about brokers, IB links and costs come up in almost every thread here, usually mixed in with strategy talk. I'd like to try a dedicated thread where we ask and answer only that.

Format suggestion:

• One question per post. Keep it specific: "Is commission on XAUUSD charged per lot or per side at broker X?" works better than "Which broker is best?"
• Answers should say how you know: own statement, broker support reply, published spec, or just what you heard.
• If you have an IB relationship with a broker you mention, say so in the post. No shame in it, just be open.
• No referral links in this thread.

I'll start with a few I've seen recently:

1. How do you work out the real round-turn cost when a broker charges commission in account currency rather than USD?
2. Does using an IB code ever change spreads or execution? My experience says no, but I'd like evidence either way.
3. Which brokers show commission as a separate line in MT5 history instead of mixing it into the price?

If this works, it could become a monthly thread. Thoughts on the format before we start?
