Prop daily reset times: why I count my own session instead

Most prop firms reset the daily loss limit at a fixed time, often midnight server time. If that's during your session, you can have two "days" in one morning.
At my current firm, the reset is at 00:00 in Prague/Berlin time (CET or CEST depending on the season), so for London scalping it's not a problem. At the previous one, it was 17:00 New York, which also didn't affect me.
But I know traders in Asia whose reset is in the middle of their session. One of them told me he'd hit the daily limit, waited for the reset, and continued trading. Allowed by the rules, but in practice it doubles the daily risk.
My rule since then: I treat my trading day as my session, not the firm's day. One limit per session, whatever the reset time.
Does anyone else adjust for the reset time?
