Crypto deposits to forex brokers: convenience and caveats

More brokers accept cryptocurrency deposits, often with fast processing and low fees. For people in regions with banking restrictions, it can be the only practical option. The trade-offs deserve a calm look.

Positives: speed, accessibility, and often no card or bank requirements. Negatives: volatility between deposit and conversion, irreversible transfers if the wrong address or network is used, and weaker consumer protection. A card payment may allow a chargeback. A crypto transfer rarely does.

Verification matters. Only send funds to addresses shown inside the broker's logged-in client area, never to addresses received by email or chat. Scammers imitate brokers and support staff.

Withdrawals can behave differently from deposits. Some brokers return crypto deposits only to crypto wallets, sometimes at the exchange rate of the withdrawal moment. Reading the policy first avoids unpleasant surprises.

Tax treatment of crypto movements varies by country and can add paperwork.
