How many pairs is too many?

Watching eight pairs at once feels productive. It feels like opportunity everywhere.

Reality check: attention is a limited resource. Every extra chart splits focus, and the quality of each decision slips a little. Signals get missed on one pair while another is being managed, and the temptation to take marginal setups goes up simply because there's always something flashing.

Then there's the correlation problem. EURUSD, GBPUSD, AUDUSD and NZDUSD often move together. Four trades on four pairs can quietly become one oversized bet on the dollar.

Some traders cap it at two or three pairs and learn them deeply: typical spread by hour, how they react at the open, where they tend to stall. That depth often beats breadth.

A rough test for the right number: if a setup appears on a pair and the trade is missed because attention was elsewhere, there are too many pairs. If a setup appears and is taken on autopilot without checking spread, session and news, there are also too many. The right number is the one where every trade still gets a full, honest look.

For many, that turns out to be two. Sometimes it's one. Rarely is it eight.

How many pairs ended up in the regular rotation, and was there a moment when cutting the list made results better?
