Hi traders, scalpers,
i decided create this thread to share some of my strategy, which i think can be usefull for you as well.
Institutional breakout scalping avoids the classic retail trap—buying the very first tick beyond an obvious high or low—by requiring pre-breakout volatility compression, an order-flow displacement close, and a structured micro-pullback. Rather than guessing whether a level will hold or break, this strategy waits for liquidity at the level to be absorbed and enters on the first institutional re-accumulation phase.
1. Strategy Architecture & Setup Specifications
This system uses a top-down M15 / M5 / M1 framework designed around high-volume session opens when interbank algorithms inject liquidity to clear resting stop orders.
Primary Pairs: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY + Deepest order-book liquidity, lowest slippage, and tightest ECN spreads.
Execution Windows: London Open: 07:00 – 10:00 UTC + NY Open / Overlap: 12:30 – 15:30 UTC + Breakouts outside peak volume windows fail over 65% of the time due to thin continuation flow.
Timeframe Hierarchy: M15: Key levels & liquidity pools + M5: Compression & EMA alignment + M1: Displacement & entry trigger + Aligns macro intraday structure with sub-minute execution precision for 3.5 to 6.5 pip stops.
Broker Requirements: Raw ECN / STP (Commission-based) + Live spread must remain under 0.4 pips on EUR/USD and under 0.8 pips on GBP/USD.
Indicators Used: 20-Period EMA (M1 & M5) + 14-Period ATR (M1 & M5) + Tick Volume with 20-period SMA + Measures dynamic trend pressure, volatility thresholds, and institutional participation.
News Filter: Flat 15 mins before & after Tier-1 releases + Avoids bilateral spread widening and slippage whipsaws during CPI, NFP, and Central Bank rate decisions.

2. Phase 1: Level Qualification & Pre-Breakout Compression
Not every horizontal level qualifies for a breakout scalp. You are hunting for liquidity pools where resting buy-stops (above resistance) or sell-stops (below support) have accumulated.
Map Tier-1 Intraday Levels (M15 Chart):
Asian Session High and Low (00:00 – 06:30 UTC range).
Previous Day High (PDH) and Low (PDL).
Pre-NY Consolidation High and Low (10:30 – 12:15 UTC London midday range).
Qualification Rule: The level must have at least two clean touches separated by at least 30 minutes, with price failing to close beyond it.
Verify Pre-Breakout Buildup ("The Coil" on M5 Chart):
Never trade a V-shaped breakout where price rallies 25+ pips straight from the opposite side of the range into the level—its energy is exhausted by the time it arrives.
Require a minimum 15-to-30-minute tight consolidation box (spanning no more than 6 to 10 pips) forming directly underneath resistance (for longs) or directly above support (for shorts).
EMA Pressure Filter: Price must be making higher swing lows into resistance (or lower swing highs into support), riding along an upward-sloping (or downward-sloping) M5 20 EMA.
Volatility Gatekeeper: The M5 14-period ATR must be at least 3.5 pips on EUR/USD (or 4.5 pips on GBP/USD) to confirm sufficient session participation.

3. Phase 2: The M1 Displacement Trigger
When price breaches the level, do not enter on the initial spike. Wait for the M1 candle to close to verify whether the break is a genuine institutional displacement or a stop-hunt wick.
A valid M1 Displacement Candle must satisfy all four quantitative rules:
Body-to-Range Ratio: The candle body must account for at least 65% of the total high-to-low candle range (small or nonexistent opposing wick).
Clearance Rule: At least 50% of the candle body must close cleanly beyond the horizontal breakout level.
Volume Expansion: The breakout candle's tick volume must be at least 1.5x the 20-period average volume.
Anti-Exhaustion Cap: The total candle length must be between 1.2x and 2.5x the current M1 ATR. If the breakout candle exceeds 3.0x M1 ATR, abort direct entry—oversized climax candles frequently snap back into the range.

4. Phase 3: Entry Execution Models
Once the M1 Displacement Candle closes, execute using one of two institutional entry structures depending on order-flow velocity:
Model A: The Micro-Retest Limit Entry (Primary — ~70% of Trades)
Used when the displacement candle leaves a clean break and a micro Fair Value Gap (imbalance).
Immediately upon the close of the M1 displacement candle, place a Limit Order right at the broken horizontal level, adding a 0.3 to 0.5 pip buffer to account for the bid/ask spread.
Stop-Loss (SL): Place the hard stop 1.0 to 1.5 pips below the low of the M1 displacement candle (for longs) or above its high (for shorts). If the displacement candle's base sits inside the prior micro-consolidation, place the stop 1.0 pip beyond the last M1 swing pivot.
4-Minute Time Decay Rule: If price does not pull back to fill your limit order within 4 M1 candles (4 minutes), or if price reaches 1.5R without filling you, cancel the pending limit order immediately. Late retests after a completed impulse leg carry a high failure rate.

Model B: The M1 Micro-Pause Continuation (High-Velocity — ~30% of Trades)
Used during aggressive London/NY open momentum when order flow is too one-sided to allow a full pullback to the broken level.
After the M1 displacement candle closes, price prints 1 to 2 small pause candles (an inside bar or narrow-bodied doji) whose bodies and wicks hold entirely beyond the broken level.
Confirm that the M1 20 EMA has caught up to within 2 pips of the pause candle's low (for longs) or high (for shorts).
Enter via a Stop Order placed 0.5 pips beyond the high/low of the pause candle in the breakout direction.
Stop-Loss (SL): Place the hard stop 1.0 pip beyond the opposite side of the pause candle or beneath the broken horizontal level (whichever gives at least 3.5 pips of structural breathing room).

5. Fakeout Filter & Early Invalidation Protocol
Professional scalpers preserve their win rate and expectancy by cutting failed breakouts before the full stop-loss is hit.

6. Risk Architecture, Position Sizing & Trade Management
In high-frequency scalping, consistent geometric growth requires strict mathematical sizing based on stop distance down to the tenth of a pip.
Exact Lot Sizing Formula
Calculate your position size dynamically before placing the limit or stop order so every trade carries identical dollar risk:

Multi-Stage Scaling & Exit Protocol
Take-Profit 1 (50% of Position at +1.5R): Close half the position automatically via a resting limit order at 1.5x your initial risk (e.g., +6.75 pips on a 4.5-pip stop). Immediately move the Stop-Loss on the remaining 50% to Breakeven + 0.3 pips to cover round-turn ECN commissions.
Take-Profit 2 (30% of Position at +2.5R or Measured Box Target): Project 100% of the height of the pre-breakout M5 consolidation box from the breakout point, or exit at +2.5R, whichever comes first.
Runner (Final 20% of Position): Trail manually behind the M1 20 EMA, exiting on the first M1 candle that closes completely on the opposite side of the 20 EMA.

Institutional Session Circuit Breakers
Risk Per Trade: 0.5% to 1.0% of account equity (0.25% to 0.5% if trading a proprietary firm evaluation).
Daily Stop-Loss Limit: -2.0R maximum daily drawdown. If you take two full losses or four -0.5R scratch losses in a single day, close the execution platform until the next calendar day.
Overtrading Cap: Maximum 3 executed trades per session (London or New York). Once you secure +2.5R net profit in a session, stop trading to protect gains against late-session chop.

This complete TradingView Pine Script v5 indicator automates the M15/M5/M1 institutional breakout scalping strategy. It plots the Asian and Pre-NY liquidity ranges, enforces non-repainting M5 ATR and 20 EMA filters, detects valid M1 displacement candles, projects Model A limit retest boxes with the 4-minute time-decay rule, flags two-candle bull/bear traps, and calculates real-time lot sizes in an on-chart HUD.
