Can an EA enforce your EURGBP skip rules?

Discretionary traders often have skip rules they struggle to follow: don't trade EURGBP when the range is under 15 pips, don't trade during UK data, don't trade after two losses. An EA can enforce them mechanically.
Ways an EA can help:
- A "guard" EA that monitors manual trades and closes any that violate rules.
- A pre-trade check that blocks order entry outside allowed windows.
- Alerts when a skip condition is active.
Implementation ideas:
- Monitor OnTradeTransaction for new positions on EURGBP.
- Check conditions (time, range, spread, recent losses).
- If a condition is violated, close the position immediately and log the reason.
Limitations:
- Closing a trade immediately costs the spread.
- It's possible to work around the EA (e.g. trade on a different terminal).
- Over-restrictive rules might block good trades.
Some traders find this valuable precisely because it removes willpower from the equation. Others feel it's too rigid.
Would you use an EA to enforce your own rules?
