Win rate gets all the attention. But for scalpers, the reject rate (how often orders are rejected, requoted, or not filled) can matter just as much.
Why reject rate matters:
- Rejected entries mean missed trades, often the best ones (fast moves).
- Rejected exits are worse: you're stuck in a position.
- High reject rates suggest liquidity or execution problems.
How to measure:
- In MT5, check the Journal tab for "rejected", "requote" or "off quotes".
- Count rejects vs total orders over a period.
- Note time of day and conditions.
What's normal? In quiet conditions on majors, rejects should be rare, close to zero. During news, some rejects are expected.
If your reject rate is consistently above a few percent in normal conditions, it's worth investigating: check your connection, platform settings, and compare with another broker.
Have you measured your reject rate? How does it compare across brokers?
