Max open trades rules and scale-in scalp methods

Some prop firms and broker account types limit the number of positions open at once: sometimes 5, sometimes 10, occasionally per symbol. For scalpers who scale into a move in small pieces, that cap can break the method.
Where it hurts:
- Building a position in three or four entries on one pair, plus another pair open, quickly hits a cap of five.
- Partial closes in hedging-mode accounts can create extra tickets in some setups.
- EAs that open many small positions to average the entry.
Ways people adapt:
- Fewer, larger entries: two adds instead of four, keeping the same total size.
- Scale in on one pair at a time only.
- Use a netting account, where adds combine into one position, if the firm allows it.
- Move the scaling logic from entries to exits: one entry, several partial targets.
Before buying an evaluation, it's worth checking how the firm counts positions: per ticket, per symbol, or by total lots. The wording matters.
Has a position-count rule forced you to change how you scale?
