Last win of the day: a protocol to stop digging

A common pattern: a good morning, a nice winner around 10:00 UK, and then a slow afternoon of small losses that give half of it back. The problem isn't the losses individually. It's continuing to trade after the best part of the day is over.
A "last win" protocol:
- After a winning trade that takes the day above a set threshold (e.g. +2R), the next loss ends the session.
- Or: after reaching the daily target, only one more trade is allowed, and only if it's an A setup.
- Or: after 11:00 UK, a winning trade ends the session automatically.
Why it helps:
- Protects good days from becoming average days.
- Reduces trading in the quieter hours, where many scalpers have worse results.
- Builds a habit of stopping while calm, rather than after frustration.
The objection is that you might stop before another good trade. True, sometimes. But check your own data: how do trades after a +2R morning perform on average? For many traders, they're flat to negative.
Do you have a rule like this? What's your threshold?
