Managing chart drawings with the MT5 object list
After a few weeks of trading, most MT5 charts are covered in old lines, rectangles, arrows and text. Levels from last Tuesday, zones that broke days ago, a trendline you can't remember drawing. All of it competes with the levels that matter today.
MT5 has a tool for this that a lot of people never open: the object list. Press Ctrl and B on a chart, or right click and choose objects list. It shows every object on that chart, with its name, type and settings.
From there you can do a few useful things.
Delete objects in bulk. Select everything that's out of date and remove it in one go, instead of hunting for each line on the chart.
Find hidden objects. Lines that sit far above or below the current price, or that are on a timeframe where they're hidden, still show up in the list.
Edit precisely. Double click an object to change its exact price, colour, or the timeframes it's visible on. That's handy for setting a level to an exact number instead of dragging it by eye.
Naming objects helps a lot here. If you rename your key levels with something like PDH or Weekly Low, you can see at a glance which ones are still in use.
A clean chart doesn't make anyone trade better on its own. It just makes the important levels easier to see.
