Scaling down after a personal best day

Much is written about cutting size after losses. Less about what to do after a record day. Yet the session after a personal best is often a dangerous one.
What tends to happen the day after:
- Confidence runs high, so the bar for taking a trade drops.
- The previous day's result becomes the new reference, and anything smaller feels disappointing.
- Size creeps up because "the edge is clearly working".
- Market conditions that produced the big day are often gone.
A simple counterweight some traders use: the session after a personal best is traded at reduced size, maybe 50–75%, with the normal trade cap. It's not a punishment. It's a way to land the good day without giving a chunk of it back.
It can also help to write a short note after the best day: what made it good, and how much of it was the market rather than you. That keeps the record in perspective.
Check your own log: how did sessions after your three best days go?
Do you treat the day after a big win differently?
