Many scalpers start trading from a home computer over Wi-Fi, then move to a VPS. Does it actually make a difference?

What changes:
- Latency: home Wi-Fi to broker might be 30–100 ms with spikes. VPS in the same data centre region: 1–10 ms.
- Stability: home connections drop, VPS connections rarely do.
- Uptime: home computers sleep, update, crash. VPS runs continuously.

How to measure the impact:
1. Record fills on your home setup for 50+ trades: requested vs filled price.
2. Move to VPS, record another 50+ trades.
3. Compare average slippage and slippage distribution.

What people typically find:
- For discretionary trading, the improvement is small but noticeable during fast markets.
- For EAs, the improvement is more significant due to faster reaction.
- The biggest benefit is often reliability, not speed.
