Changing a posted session plan mid morning without moving the goalposts
Plans posted at 7am don't always survive to 10am, and they shouldn't have to. Markets change. The problem is that changing a plan and quietly rewriting it to match what already happened look almost the same from the outside.
So a few ground rules for updating a plan you posted on the floor.
Add, don't edit. Leave the original text as it was and post the update underneath with the time. If the original said long above 1.0850 and now you think that's wrong, the record should show both.
Say what changed. A new level formed, a headline came out, the pair broke something important. If you can't name the thing that changed, the urge to update probably comes from a losing trade rather than the chart.
Keep the original cancel levels in force unless the update says otherwise. People drop the cancel line from the first plan and then wonder why they kept trading a dead idea.
And no updates while you're in a trade on that pair. Manage the trade by the rules you entered with. Rethink the plan once you're flat.
This isn't about looking good on the forum. It's that a plan you can rewrite whenever you like stops being a plan.
