Taking a break between passing phase one and starting phase two
When you pass phase one of a two-step evaluation, most firms give you the phase two account fairly quickly. A lot of traders start trading it straight away, still riding the energy from the pass.
There's a case for pausing a few days first. Passing phase one often involves a good run, and that can leave you feeling more confident than your edge really justifies. Starting phase two immediately, with that feeling, can lead to bigger size or looser rules. Phase two usually has a lower target, so the pressure is less, but drawdown limits are often the same, and breaching them means starting again from scratch.
The other thing is that phase one results are a sample. A short break gives you time to look at it properly. Did you follow your rules? Did one or two trades carry the result? Was there anything you got away with that you shouldn't repeat?
Check whether the firm has a time limit for starting or completing phase two, or an inactivity rule, so the break doesn't cause problems.
Starting phase two as a fresh account, with your normal size and normal rules, is a pretty sensible approach.
