Breaker block flips on GBPJPY, how I tell a real flip from a fake one
a breaker, the way I use it, is an old zone that failed and flipped role. If a demand area on M5 gets broken with a strong close through it, that area can turn into resistance when price comes back up to it. GBPJPY is great for this because it moves enough to leave clean levels. The sequence I wait for is: price breaks the zone with a decisive candle, drops away, then rallies back into the zone from below. I want a rejection there, a wick or a bearish close, before I enter short. Stop sits above the zone and the target is the low that was made after the break.
How I separate real flips from fake ones: the break has to be strong and ideally take out a recent swing low, not just poke through the zone and back. Weak breaks mean the zone is still alive and price will often go back up through it. I also avoid doing this in the dead hours. GBPJPY in the Asian lull makes level after level that nobody respects.
