Prop scalpers: using phone as backup flatten

On a prop account, having your phone ready as a backup way to flatten positions is one of the cheapest forms of insurance there is.
The situations where I have needed it: a VPS freezing mid-trade, my home internet dropping during London, and once a Windows update that restarted my PC with a position open. Each time, the phone app let me close the trade within a minute.
How I set it up:
- The broker or platform app is installed and logged into the challenge account, not a demo.
- I test it on mobile data, not Wi-Fi, because the reason I need it is often that my internet is down.
- I know exactly where the close button is and practise closing a tiny position on a Sunday or on demo.
- Two-factor authentication works on the phone without needing the PC.
- The phone is charged and on the desk, not in another room.
A test I do before every new challenge: open a micro position from the desktop and close it from the phone. If anything fails, I fix it before the first real trade.
Some firms have rules about trading from multiple devices or IP addresses, so check that first. Most only care about copy-trading or account sharing, but read your own terms.
