USDJPY: Asia range levels that still matter in London

Asia range levels on USDJPY still matter in London, but only some of them, and I am selective about which.
What I mark: the Asia session high and low, between roughly 00:00 and 07:00 London. If the range is reasonably clean and was not created by a single news spike, I treat those two prices as the main levels for the London open.
When I ignore it: if the range came from a BOJ comment or a Japanese data release, the extremes are a news scar, not an area where orders built up. Same if the range is unusually wide, because a break of a huge range often means the move is already done.
The rules for trading breaks or failures are the same as on my other pairs: a clean break with normal spread and follow-through, or a fake break that closes back inside the range within a few minutes. One difference for yen: any headline from Japanese officials about the currency overrides everything, and I flatten.
In my notes, the London open respects a clean Asia range on USDJPY slightly more often than on EURUSD. Probably because the Japanese session is more active for yen. I mark it, but I do not worship it.
