Calendar hygiene tools that hurt discretionary scalpers

Some calendar tools make discretionary trading worse.
Auto-pop alerts for every medium-impact print train you to flinch all morning. I cut alerts to Tier-1 for my pairs only.
Colour-coded "avoid trading" washes that last all day after NFP delete good afternoon setups that had nothing to do with the print. I use timed windows, not day-long scarlet letters.
Economic calendar apps that push opinions ("high volatility expected") without showing priced consensus add narrative, not information. I want times, previous, forecast, and my own note on what is priced.
The hygiene that helps is subtraction: fewer alerts, shorter blackouts with hard ends, and a sheet I write myself. Tools that hurt are the ones that keep my attention on the calendar instead of on the one or two windows that actually matter for EURUSD tomorrow. If a tool makes me feel busy without changing a single pre-written rule, it is noise with a subscription. I review the alert list every Sunday with the same ruthlessness I use on pairs. If an alert did not change a decision all week, it goes. Calendar hygiene is a delete key, not a new app.
