The 30-Day Discipline Challenge
Discipline grows through practice, and a structured challenge can jumpstart it. Here's a 30-day plan. The goal isn't profit, it's consistency.
Daily requirements:
1. Complete your morning prep: bias, levels, calendar check.
2. Use your pre-trade checklist for every trade.
3. Journal every trade within 15 minutes of closing.
4. Respect your daily loss limit and trade limit.
5. Close the platform at the end of your window.
6. Do a two-minute evening review: "Did I follow my rules today?"
Weekly requirements:
- Day 7, 14, 21, 28: complete a weekly review with metrics and one lesson
Scoring:
Mark each day with a check if you completed all daily requirements, or an X if you missed any. Aim for at least 25 checks out of 30.
If you miss a day:
- Don't quit. Note why you missed, and restart the next day.
- Look for patterns: was it fatigue, boredom, or a lack of preparation?
Optional rewards:
- After 7 checks in a row, treat yourself to something small
- After 30 days, review your results and decide what to refine
Safety rule:
If you're in a heavy drawdown or stressful period, reduce risk or switch to demo during the challenge.
At the end, compare your trading and mood to the previous month.
Discipline is a muscle. Thirty focused days can make it visibly stronger.
