Calibrating my broker scorecard update ritual under prop constraints

Broker scorecard updates under prop constraints need a calendar, not a mood.

I used to refresh the scorecard when something felt wrong. Now it is a ritual: spreads, rejects, uptime notes, and whether the prop venue still deserves capital next to the personal raw account. Prop rules change the weights — a slightly wider spread may still win if the firm’s other constraints fit my metals ladder.

Ritual contents
  • Same session samples as last quarter for fair comparison
  • Prop-specific friction: news rules, lot caps, payout maths
  • Explicit keep / reduce / drop decision written down
Without the ritual, anecdotes win. With it, the account mix stays intentional.

How often do you update a broker scorecard when prop and personal venues both sit in the mix?

Under prop I weight rule friction nearly as high as spread. A beautiful raw quote I cannot use around my real news windows is a museum piece. The scorecard job is capital allocation, not brand ranking for its own sake.

After the ritual I change allocations slowly — one step per month — so a single noisy sample cannot yank the whole book.
