XAGUSD journal: how session tags fixed my blended stats

Session tags on XAGUSD fixed blended stats that were lying to me.

Silver looks dramatic on a chart. In a journal without Asia / London / NY tags, winners and losers from different tapes become one mushy expectancy number. Once I tagged sessions, London work and overnight leftovers stopped pretending to be the same strategy.

Tag discipline
  • Session at entry mandatory
  • News-adjacent flag separate from session
  • Review expectancy per tag before touching the blended total
Blended stats flatter chaos. Tagged stats expose it.

Did session tagging change which hours you allow for XAGUSD, or only how you talk about results?

Silver without session tags also mixed my London A+ trades with leftover inventory mistakes. Once tagged, I could retire the leftover habit without throwing away the London playbook. That separation was the whole point — blended totals had been protecting the weaker behaviour.

I export tagged rows monthly so the lesson survives platform changes and memory edits.

I revisit this on the Sunday review with costs in the same pass as entries. Process without cost is half a conversation, and cost without process is just a spreadsheet hobby.
