Screenshot discipline: entry, mid, exit mandatory?

Screenshot discipline: entry, mid, exit?

I used to screenshot winners for the scrapbook and skip losers. Useless. Now the rule is mechanical: entry + mid (or first management) + exit on every discretionary scalp, filed by date. No caption required in the moment — labels come in the evening review.

Why three frames:
  • Entry shows whether the setup matched the written checklist
  • Mid catches whether I moved stop / added size against rules
  • Exit shows if I scratched from fear or followed the plan
It is tedious for about two weeks. Then it becomes the fastest honesty tool I have — especially for “I thought the stop was here” debates with myself.

Do you find three shots too heavy for M1 scalping? Some mates do entry+exit only. Others record short Loom clips. What survives a busy London open without wrecking execution? If the process slows your click by half a second, that is acceptable; a bad fill from rushing the screenshot is not. I would rather miss one tick than miss the lesson.

Entry, mid, exit — every discretionary scalp

Screenshotting winners only is a vanity album. Mandatory entry + mid/management + exit on every discretionary ticket changed my reviews. No caption required in the moment; labels come in the evening when ego is quieter.

Rule: no next session until yesterday’s screens are filed by date. That friction stops “I’ll remember.” I am full-time; memory still lies about mid-trade management more than about entries.

Prop reviews benefit too — you can show process, not just a payout screenshot.

Losers get the same three-shot sequence without exception. If I skip a loser screenshot, the next session starts at warm-up size as a penalty. That sounds petty; it works.

I store screens in dated folders that match the journal day, so evening review is retrieval, not archaeology. Mid-trade shots matter most — they show whether management matched the plan or drifted.

Do you capture mid-trade as a timer (e.g. first management) or only when you move stop/target?
