NY open inventory flush as a fade setup on EURUSD

At the NY open I sometimes see a sharp inventory flush — a burst that looks like news even when the calendar is quiet.

Fading that flush on EURUSD is only on my card when: the flush tags obvious London liquidity, reverses quickly with a reclaim, and I am not in the first seconds of a scheduled release. Entry after reclaim structure, not in the middle of the flush candle while spreads are silly.

Invalidation is hard and close. If US cash equities are one-way, I usually skip the EUR fade — cross-asset can keep pressure on longer than a tidy chart pattern suggests. Time stop is short; inventory flushes that do not reverse promptly often become the start of the US leg.

This is not my highest-frequency setup. It is a defined exception, which is why it needs a written card.
  • Do you trade NY open flushes as fades, or only with-trend?
  • How many seconds or minutes do you wait before calling it a flush vs a trend leg?
Timing discipline matters more than the pattern sketch.
