EURUSD order flow tells I watch at the open discretionary

EURUSD order-flow tells I watch at the open -- discretionary, lightly held.

I do not have institutional flow. I watch pace, consecutive aggressive prints on the time and sales if available, and whether pullbacks are bought/sold quickly in the first half hour. These are soft tells paired with hard rules: levels, spread, time stop.

Use
Tells can veto a fade into strength or stop me chasing a dead tape. They do not replace the plan. When I stare at flow without a level, I overtrade.

If your platform lacks useful prints, pace + spread + session box already cover most of what I need. Fancy flow language without data is cosplay.

What do you actually watch at the EUR open beyond the candles?

I keep a humble prior: retail tells are weak. If pace and level agree, fine. If they argue, level and risk rules win. Flow language without position caps is how discretionary traders cosplay prop desks and pay retail spreads for the privilege.

Soft order-flow tells, hard rules still own risk

I do not have institutional flow. At the EURUSD open I watch pace and whether pullbacks are bought or sold quickly — soft tells that can veto a ticket, rarely create one alone. Hard rules still own levels, spread, size, and time stop.

Frankfurt habit: tells may say “stand down” when pace is confused even if the level is pretty. They do not say “market order” when the checklist is incomplete. That asymmetry keeps soft data from becoming superstition.

If the tell conflicts with a clean A-setup, I usually reduce size or pass rather than average the disagreement into a confused entry.

I write down when a soft tell vetoed a setup that later worked. That audit keeps me from over-trusting tells — and from discarding them when they are useful.

What soft tell has vetoed the most tickets for you this month — slow pullback absorption, or frantic pace with no acceptance?
