Building a personal calendar with only events that move your pairs.
Default economic calendars are noisy. Half the flags do not matter for GBPUSD scalps; some "orange" events still wreck gold. I keep a trimmed calendar: symbols I trade, events that historically widened my spreads or moved my levels, and everything else hidden.
Maintenance
Once a month I review: which events did I flat for unnecessarily, and which "minor" prints hurt me? AUD employment might matter more to my book than a mid-tier EU print. CPI/NFP/FOMC stay permanent. Pair-specific items get notes ("XAU: always flat").
The goal is fewer decisions at 07:55. If the calendar on my second monitor is a Christmas tree, I will ignore it when it matters.
What did you remove from your calendar last quarter -- and what did you add back after getting burned?
I store the trimmed list in the same sheet as blackout windows so updates are one place. When a broker or platform calendar re-enables clutter, I ignore it and trust the sheet. Your pairs define importance -- a global "high impact" flag does not.
