Gideon pivoted toward the second patrol, who were standing near the base of the radome.
But as Gideon raised his weapon, the wind suddenly died. The sudden drop in ambient noise exposed the dull clatter of the second guard’s rifle hitting the concrete.
The remaining patrol turned. They saw the giant shadow of the tactical chief.
"Breach! Surface breach!" one of the guards screamed into his radio, raising his assault rifle.
"Move!" Gideon roared over the comms, abandoning stealth entirely. He opened fire, a sustained burst of suppressed 9mm rounds tearing into the guards, dropping them before they could pull their triggers.

But the radio call had already gone out.
The plateau erupted into chaotic, blinding red light. Klaxons shrieked into the night sky. The automated, roof-mounted sentry turrets on the radome whirred to life, their thermal optics locking onto the two thermal blooms on the concrete.
Elias sprinted. He didn't fire his weapon; he poured every ounce of his remaining strength into crossing the fifty yards of open ground.
03:59:45.
The sentry turrets spun, their heavy machine guns cycling.

"Cover!" Gideon shouted, throwing himself directly into the line of fire, aiming his weapon up at the turrets and unleashing a hail of bullets to draw their targeting algorithms.
The turrets opened fire. The deafening roar of high-caliber rounds chewed the concrete into powder around Gideon, slamming into his heavy ballistic armor with sickening, heavy thuds.
Elias hit the base of the radome, sliding on his knees under the firing arc of the turrets. He found the heavy steel maintenance hatch covering the fiber-optic trunk. It was secured by a heavy mag-lock.
03:59:55.
"I'm at the hatch!" Elias screamed over the gunfire, pulling a localized EMP charge from his tactical webbing—a parting gift from the Kyrie’s armory. He slapped it against the mag-lock and hit the detonator.

A sharp, blue crack of static electricity blew the locking mechanism to slag. Elias ripped the heavy steel panel open.
Inside was a glowing, chaotic nightmare of fiber-optic cables and localized routing servers. It was the physical throat of Baphomet.
04:00:00.
The digital clock hit zero.
A thousand miles away, in the dark web trenches of Macau, Cyprus, and Bahrain, the Hashashin swarm executed the Grand Master’s command. Ten million highly leveraged, stochastic micro-trades flooded the spot market for the Turkish Lira, the South African Rand, and the Mexican Peso.

Inside the radome, the effect was instantaneous and physically violent.
The localized routing servers behind the access panel screamed. The cooling fans instantly spiked to maximum RPM, whining like jet turbines. The bandwidth of the satellite uplink was slammed with an impossible volume of contradictory, irrational data.
Baphomet, the flawless, deterministic quantum AI, suddenly found itself drowning in absolute chaos. It began allocating massive amounts of processing power to calculate the risk of this unprecedented exotic currency volume.
The automated sentry turrets above Elias’s head, which were networked into Baphomet’s localized defense grid, suddenly froze. Their targeting algorithms choked, starved of bandwidth by the Liquidity DDOS.

The heavy machine guns stopped firing.
"The swarm is in!" Elias shouted, reaching into his jacket for the Genesis Node.
The heavy steel door of the radome observatory suddenly blew outward, kicked off its hinges by a massive kinetic force.
The remaining eight Malta operatives poured out onto the concrete, assault rifles raised. But they weren't leading the charge.
Stepping out of the glowing interior of the radome, flanked by his men, was Commander de Molay.
The rogue Templar was an imposing, terrifying figure in the flashing red light of the klaxons. He wore no helmet, revealing the jagged pale scar running down his neck. He carried a heavy, fully automatic shotgun.

He looked at the frozen sentry turrets, then down at Elias, who was kneeling at the exposed maintenance panel with the glowing obsidian block in his hand.
De Molay’s dead, slate-grey eyes locked onto the Genesis Node. He realized exactly what was happening. Baphomet wasn't just under a cyber-attack; it was about to be mathematically lobotomized by the true Grand Master.
"Kill the quant!" De Molay roared, racking the pump of his shotgun with a deafening clack. "Burn him!"

"Execute the handshake!" Gideon bellowed from the darkness. The tactical chief, bleeding from multiple high-caliber impacts to his armor, rose from the shattered concrete. He stepped entirely into the open, raising his weapon and unleashing a wall of suppressive fire directly at De Molay’s squad, acting as an absolute, immovable human shield.
Elias didn't look back at the gunfire. He didn't flinch as bullets chipped the radome shell inches from his head.
He drove his scarred right palm against the glass of the Genesis Node, waking the golden cipher. He found the primary fiber-optic input port on the routing server and slammed the obsidian block directly into the hardware slot.

The golden light of the Node flared into a blinding, incandescent star, bleeding directly into the fiber-optic cables.

Chapter 32: The Liquidation of De Molay
The golden light of the Genesis Node did not merely illuminate the maintenance panel; it seemed to consume it. As Elias Vance drove the obsidian block into the primary fiber-optic slot, the ancient base-12 geometry bled outward, infecting the physical infrastructure of the radome. The localized servers shrieked as the massive, recursive architecture of the Holy Grail equation flooded their memory banks.
Elias kept his scarred palm pressed flat against the hot glass of the Node, acting as the living biometric conduit for the upload. The terminal display before him cascaded with frantic, overriding commands.

Behind him, the concrete plateau had devolved into a slaughterhouse.
