"Give me one rational, mathematical reason not to put a bullet through his heart, Elias," Alistair said, his voice terrifyingly calm in the ringing silence.
"Because De Molay’s execution algorithms are currently anchored to Gideon’s data scraper," Elias said, slowly rising from behind the server rack, keeping his hands visible. "De Molay just stop-hunted us to the exact fraction of a pip. He thinks the leak is absolute. He thinks he has a direct wiretap into my brain."
Elias stepped carefully over the shattered glass, his eyes locked on the tactical chief. "If you kill him, the heartbeat ping on his hardware token flatlines. The telemetry stream dies. De Molay will instantly realize we found the rat, and he’ll disconnect."

"And if we leave him breathing?" Alistair’s finger tightened fractionally on the trigger.
"We feed the wiretap poison," Elias said, his voice dropping to a sharp, clinical register. "We show De Molay exactly what he expects to see: panic. We construct a Judas Spread."
Alistair didn't lower the gun, but his silver eyes flicked to Elias, the Grand Master’s tactical mind immediately grasping the architecture of the trap. "You want to spoof our own internal network."
"Gideon," Elias commanded, stepping up to the kneeling giant. "Take your hand off the weapon. Move over to the secondary terminal and place your palm on the biometric scanner. Keep the session alive."

Gideon looked at the young quant, then at the unwavering barrel of Alistair’s handgun. The tactical chief slowly raised his hands, abandoning the submachine gun, and stood. He walked to the terminal, pressing his heavy, calloused hand against the glowing glass interface. The compressed burst of encrypted data continued to ping out of the Kyrie’s satellite uplink, beaming straight to the Malta command.
Elias slid back into his own chair, ignoring the adrenaline trembling in his fingers. He pulled up the AUD/USD order book.
"De Molay is arrogant, but he isn't stupid," Elias murmured, his hands flying across the mechanical keyboard, bypassing his actual execution scripts and opening a sandbox environment. "He knows our exiled faction is undercapitalized. If we suddenly place a billion-dollar order, he’ll know it’s a trap. We have to look desperate."

Elias began coding a fabricated local order book. He programmed a highly leveraged, massive short position on the Australian Dollar, making it look as though they were trying to aggressively double down to recover the losses Gideon had just caused them.
But the masterpiece of the trap was the stop-loss.
Elias didn't just place a stop-loss; he created a cluster of them, a glaring, neon sign of concentrated vulnerability resting just two pips above a major psychological resistance level. It was the juiciest, most irresistible liquidity cluster imaginable. To an apex predator like De Molay, it looked like a wounded animal bleeding out in the snow.

"I’m routing the fabricated telemetry into Gideon’s outbound packet stream," Elias said, hitting compile. "As far as Malta is concerned, this fake order book is our actual live exposure."
Elias watched the ping.
14 milliseconds. The data reached Malta.
"He sees it," Elias whispered.
On the live exchange monitors, the AUD/USD market instantly convulsed. De Molay’s hijacked Templar AI, Baphomet, detected the massive vulnerability in Elias's leaked data. The AI immediately deployed a ferocious wave of capital, aggressively buying the Australian Dollar, aiming to smash the price upward to trigger Elias’s clustered stop-losses and wipe out the Kyrie’s remaining margin.

The price spiked violently.
0.6550.
0.6565.
De Molay was pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the market, generating massive upward momentum to hunt the stops.
"He’s committed the capital," Alistair noted, watching the green candles surge on the displays. "He is hunting the ghosts."

"Let him drive the price up," Elias said, a cold, ruthless smile touching his lips. "Let him pay a premium for every single pip."
The Australian Dollar surged toward the fabricated resistance line. De Molay’s algorithms were buying at increasingly terrible, over-valued prices, blinded by the absolute certainty that they were about to trigger a liquidation cascade that would pay for the aggressive entry.
0.6580.
0.6588.
0.6590. The exact price level of Elias’s fake stops.
De Molay’s massive buy orders slammed into the line, expecting to trigger the liquidations.
"Now," Elias snarled.

Elias killed the sandbox simulation. He instantly purged the fabricated data from Gideon’s telemetry stream and launched the real execution script.
He didn't have stops at 0.6590. He had a massive, hidden wall of real limit sell orders, backed by the absolute geometric precision of the Grail of Liquidity.
De Molay’s hyper-leveraged, aggressive buying momentum slammed directly into Elias’s hidden wall. Because De Molay had artificially inflated the price of the Australian Dollar to hunt the fake stops, Elias was suddenly selling into the market at an incredibly over-valued premium.

The trap snapped shut.
Elias absorbed De Molay’s buying pressure entirely, filling his massive short positions at the absolute top of the spike. Then, the underlying reality of the market reasserted itself. De Molay’s buying pressure evaporated because he had expected the stop-losses to carry the momentum. Without the cascading liquidations to support the price, gravity took over.
The Australian Dollar collapsed.
Elias’s real short positions rode the crash downward. The profit counter on the Kyrie’s terminal exploded into the green. Millions. Tens of millions.

Back in Malta, De Molay’s hijacked Baphomet realized it had just bought the absolute top of a manipulated market based on poisoned telemetry. The rogue AI, bound by its own risk parameters, was forced to panic-sell its massive long exposure to prevent a total margin wipeout, accelerating the crash and driving Elias’s profits even higher.
Elias closed the positions, locking in the stolen wealth, bleeding another massive artery of the rogue faction’s capital into their exiled accounts.
The server room fell silent, save for the hum of the cooling units and the gentle rocking of the Mediterranean swells against the hull.
