The AUD/USD price action didn't just reverse. It violently spiked upward in a single, microscopic tick. It was a localized, anomalous surge of buying pressure that defied all macroeconomic logic. The candle spiked exactly 2.1 pips—precisely crossing Elias’s invisible stop-loss threshold—before instantly collapsing back down to its previous level.
Elias’s position was liquidated. The profit vanished, replaced by a sudden, sharp drawdown of their limited margin.
Elias froze, his coffee cup halfway to his mouth. "He stop-hunted me."
Alistair frowned, leaning over Elias’s shoulder to look at the chart. "A standard market-maker tactic. You set your stop too tight."

"No," Elias said, his heart rate accelerating. "My stop-loss wasn't resting on the exchange’s order book, Alistair. It was held locally on this machine. It was a ghost order. The exchange didn't know it existed until the price crossed the threshold. De Molay’s algorithm spiked the price to the exact fraction of a pip required to trigger my liquidation, and not a millimeter further."
"A statistical anomaly," Gideon murmured from the shadows of the bulkhead, his deep voice vibrating in the cramped cabin.
"In quantitative finance, if a statistical anomaly happens to the exact pip, it’s not an anomaly. It’s a targeted strike," Elias said, his hands flying across the keyboard.

He didn't execute another trade. Instead, he pulled up the raw network telemetry of the Kyrie’s satellite uplink. He began filtering the outbound data packets, separating the heavy, encrypted flow of their trading data from the baseline noise of the ship's telemetry.
"De Molay has Baphomet," Alistair argued, though his eyes narrowed as he watched Elias work. "The AI is capable of reverse-engineering your logic based on your entry sequencing."
"Baphomet is a predictive engine, Alistair. It predicts human behavior. It doesn't read minds," Elias countered. He applied a hexadecimal filter to the packet sniffer. "For Baphomet to know exactly where my local stop-loss was hidden, it would need the exact dynamic variables I typed into this terminal three minutes ago."

Elias isolated a microscopic data stream. It was tiny. A few kilobytes of data piggybacking on the ship’s automated weather-reporting ping. It was heavily encrypted, but it wasn't using the Templar’s base-12 cipher. It was using a standard, military-grade AES-256 encryption.
"We have a leak," Elias whispered, the chill of the air conditioning suddenly feeling much colder.
He highlighted the outbound packet on the main screen.
"Every time I compile an execution script," Elias explained, pointing to the timestamps, "a localized script on this network scrapes the variables and broadcasts them in a compressed burst. De Molay isn't out-trading us. He’s reading my screen in real-time. He knows exactly where our armor is weakest, and he’s sniping our stop-losses to bleed our capital to zero."

Alistair stared at the outbound packet. The Grand Master’s face turned entirely to stone. The implications were catastrophic.
"The Kyrie is completely air-gapped," Alistair said, his voice dropping to a dangerous, lethal whisper. "No external device has been connected to this network since we left the Alps. The encryption keys for the weather telemetry are only accessible via physical hardware tokens."
Elias slowly turned in his chair.
There were only three people on the rusted yacht who possessed the physical hardware tokens required to access the ship's root directory. Elias. Alistair.

And the towering man standing silently by the bulkhead.
Elias looked at Gideon. The tactical chief’s face was an unreadable mask of scarred granite. He didn't flinch. He didn't reach for the submachine gun strapped to his chest. He simply stared back at Elias with dead, flat eyes.
"Gideon," Alistair said. The Grand Master did not raise his voice, but the single word carried the absolute, crushing weight of a death sentence.

"The cathedral is burning, Grand Master," Gideon replied. His voice was steady, betraying no panic. He didn't address Alistair with his usual reverence. "De Molay understands that the era of managing the decline is over. The fiat system is rotting. Why bleed our treasury to defend a hallucination, when we can control the collapse?"
"You sold the coordinates of our trades to Malta," Alistair said, his hand slowly reaching beneath the wool of his fisherman’s sweater.
"I insured the survival of the Order," Gideon corrected. "De Molay promised that if I delivered the quant’s algorithms, and eventually the Grail itself, the loyalist faction would be spared during the purge. You are obsolete, Alistair. The boy is a threat to the natural reset of the market."

Gideon finally moved. His hand dropped toward the grip of his weapon with terrifying speed.
But Elias was already moving.
He didn't have a gun. He had a 12-volt marine battery sitting on the deck beside his terminal, wired to the emergency backup systems.
Elias kicked the heavy battery directly at Gideon’s shins.

The eighty-pound block of lead and acid smashed into the tactical chief’s knees just as he unholstered the submachine gun. Gideon staggered, his shot going wide. The burst of 9mm rounds shattered the overhead fluorescent lights, plunging the cramped server room into absolute darkness, illuminated only by the frantic green glow of the trading monitors.
In the chaotic strobe of the screens, Elias saw Alistair draw his weapon. The cramped steel belly of the ship was about to become a slaughterhouse.
"Don't shoot him!" Elias roared over the deafening echoes of the gunfire, diving behind the reinforced steel of the server racks. "If he's dead, we can't feed De Molay the poison!"

Chapter 25: The Judas Spread
The burst of 9mm gunfire still rang in the cramped, steel-walled server room of the Kyrie. The overhead fluorescents were dead, shattered into a shower of glass and sparks. The only light came from the erratic, strobe-like flashing of the ultra-wide trading monitors, casting violent green and red shadows across the combatants.
Alistair stood frozen in the strobe light, his handgun leveled perfectly at the center of Gideon’s mass. The tactical chief was on one knee, grimacing as he recovered from the impact of the heavy marine battery Elias had kicked into his shins. Gideon’s hand hovered inches from his submachine gun.
