Elias hit the compile key. The hybrid algorithm—a terrifying amalgamation of Templar structural geometry and Hashashin decentralized chaos—locked into place.
"We don't just buy the bottom," Elias whispered, staring at the flashing green confirmation prompt. "We trap his capital inside the spread. We execute a synchronized, hyper-leveraged long across every dark pool in the syndicate. By the time the clearinghouses realize what has happened, De Molay's entire rogue treasury will be forcibly liquidated to cover the margin deficit. We use his own momentum to snap his neck."

The warehouse fell silent, save for the deafening roar of the cooling fans. The Hashashin quants, men and women who had spent their lives engineering chaos, were staring at the sheer, ruthless elegance of the trap a former Canary Wharf analyst had just built.
"It requires absolute synchronization," Tariq said, pulling a heavy silver pocket watch from his thobe. "A latency deviation of even three milliseconds across the swarm will cause the phantom bids to fill. If that happens, De Molay’s capital will crush us instantly."

"Alistair is in the Alps right now," Elias said, looking at the time. It was 3:45 AM in Dubai. 7:45 PM in New York. The pre-market would open in exactly twelve hours. "He is physically severing the Templar fiber-optic trunks. He’s forcing De Molay’s algorithms to re-route through secondary satellite uplinks. It will inject a fractional latency into his execution speeds. That’s our edge."
Tariq nodded, turning to the communications terminal. "Deploy the swarm. Disperse the capital across the proxy nodes. Prime the phantom bids. We sleep in shifts. When the sun rises over Wall Street, we bleed the Knights Templar dry."
Elias stepped back from the terminal, his head throbbing with exhaustion. He had just handed the keys to the global economy to a syndicate of algorithmic terrorists in order to stop a rogue billionaire from burning the world. The irony was not lost on him.

He walked to the edge of the server farm, finding a small, reinforced window that looked out over the Arabian desert. The sky was beginning to bruise with the first purple light of dawn. He pulled out the original, blood-stained piece of vellum from his inner pocket.
Dr. Arnault had died to keep this math out of the hands of the assassins. Now, Elias had given it to them.

"It's a temporary alliance, Arnault," Elias whispered to the ghost of the scholar, folding the vellum and placing it back over his heart. "As soon as De Molay is liquidated, I have to figure out how to take the Grail back from the swarm."
Behind him, the chaotic hum of the Hashashin server farm deepened, a hungry, vibrating resonance that shook the concrete floor. The trap was armed. The phantom bids were hovering in the dark pools, waiting in the shadows of the spread for the absolute wealth of the Templar Order to fall blindly into the abyss.

Chapter 22: The Alchemist’s Leverage
The digital clocks in the Dubai warehouse synchronized to standard atomic time.
It was 7:58 AM in New York City. 3:58 PM in the Arabian Desert.
Elias Vance stood motionless before the towering bank of ultra-wide monitors, his linen suit hanging loosely off his exhausted frame. Around him, the Hashashin data center felt like the engine room of a doomed submarine. The tens of thousands of cooling fans shrieked, fighting a losing battle against the heat generated by the syndicate's decentralized swarm spinning up to maximum processing capacity.
Beside him, Tariq stood with his arms crossed over his white thobe, his dark eyes perfectly still behind mirrored aviator sunglasses.

"Two minutes to the bell," Tariq said, his voice piped through the encrypted headset Elias wore to hear over the roaring servers. "The swarm is distributed across four thousand proxy nodes. Floating margin is fully collateralized. We are risking the entirety of the Guild's wealth on a medieval equation written in a dead historian's blood."
"The math doesn't bleed," Elias replied, his eyes locked on the Depth of Market (DOM) overlay for the US Dollar Index, the DXY.
At 7:59:45 AM, the pre-market volume began to twitch. Nervous capital, sensing the atmospheric pressure dropping, began to pull limit orders from the book. The liquidity thinned out, leaving the spread dangerously wide.

8:00:00 AM.
The opening bell rang on Wall Street.
It did not begin with a trickle. It began with an orbital bombardment.
On the central 8K display, the North American continent turned a violent, flashing crimson. Commander de Molay had launched the Night of the Red Candles. It wasn't a standard speculative short; it was a highly sophisticated, multi-vector synthetic assault on the core clearinghouses of the United States.
De Molay’s hijacked algorithms simultaneously spoofed massive counter-party defaults across the interbank lending networks. To the automated risk-management systems at JPMorgan, Citibank, and Goldman Sachs, it looked as though the fundamental plumbing of the US Treasury market had just evaporated in a thermonuclear flash.

The reaction was instantaneous and catastrophic.
"The clearinghouses are freezing," Tariq announced, his voice tight. "Collateral protocols are triggering. The systemic banks are automatically withdrawing their liquidity to protect their balance sheets."
The US Dollar didn't just drop; it fell into a vacuum. The DXY chart painted a massive, brutal red candle, slicing through technical support levels like a guillotine. On the secondary monitors, global financial news networks erupted into chaotic breaking news alerts. Anchors scrambled to explain a sovereign flash crash that defied all known economic catalysts.
De Molay was pouring billions of dollars of the Templar treasury into the void, aggressively selling into the panic to accelerate the collapse.
"Deploy the phantoms," Elias commanded.

Tariq hit the execution key.
Across the globe, the Hashashin swarm injected tens of thousands of decentralized limit buy orders directly into the path of De Molay’s falling knife. To De Molay’s AI, it looked like the market was desperately trying to build a floor to stop the crash.
De Molay’s algorithms, programmed by a blunt instrument who believed in absolute kinetic force, swung the sledgehammer. The Templar AI doubled its short positions, aiming to smash through the Hashashin bids and break the back of the Dollar permanently.
But Elias’s code was waiting.
Exactly four milliseconds before De Molay’s massive sell orders could cross the spread and fill, the Hashashin limit buys vanished. They were instantaneously cancelled and replaced a fraction of a pip lower down the order book.
