Elias leaned forward, his analytical mind dissecting the structure of the enemy. "If they have no central core, how do they coordinate attacks like the one we just saw on the bond market? That kind of synthetic spoofing requires microscopic synchronization."

"It is hidden in the architecture of a place built by the original nine Knights," Alistair said. "A place where the stone itself is a data visualization of multi-century market super-cycles. You are going to France, Mr. Vance. You are going to the Chartres Cathedral. But tread lightly—the Guild of Assassins knows you are our new variable. And they will be waiting for you in the shadows of the nave."
