Time-limited vs unlimited evaluations: how the clock changes behaviour
Re: Time-limited vs unlimited evaluations: how the clock changes behaviour
It helps to start time limited evaluations at the right point in the calendar. Starting one just before Christmas or in mid August, when markets are quieter, uses up time in conditions that might not suit your strategy. Starting just after a quiet period, when markets are active again, makes better use of the time. It's a small planning step but can make the evaluation feel much less rushed. Does anyone plan their evaluation start dates around the economic calendar? I'd at least avoid starting one in the same week as a major central bank meeting, unless that's the kind of market your strategy likes. The first few days set the tone, and a nasty start under time pressure is hard to recover from.
