Fair challenge, and I know traders who run it your way successfully. The difference is probably in how we lose.

My bad days are rarely a string of full stops that a risk cap would catch. They are six or seven small, half-planned tickets, each well inside the R limit, adding up to a morning of spread and slippage. A drawdown limit never trips on that pattern. A count does, and that is the leak the ceiling exists to close.

On the outlier days you describe, a ceiling of five or six costs me surprisingly little. Clean trend mornings usually give me two or three genuine entries; after that I am adding to a move rather than finding new ones, and my own log says those later tickets are roughly break-even after costs.

If your records show tickets seven to ten on good days carrying real expectancy, that is a proper argument for your method. Mine don't, which is why the sticky note stays.
