Watch only on funded, no exceptions. On my own account I'll allow the odd sweep and reclaim just before London at tiny size, but the funded account doesn't need my late night ideas.

Re: Asia session: when I watch vs when I flatly refuse to scalp
Same split here, though for a different reason on my side. The Asian session is when the Australian, New Zealand, Japanese and Chinese data comes out, so my "sweep and reclaim just before London" is sometimes really a reaction to a release I wasn't watching at 1 a.m. If I haven't checked what printed overnight, I treat the Asian range as unreliable.
On a funded account that matters even more, because daily loss limits are usually calculated on equity at a fixed server time. A late-night idea that goes wrong can use up the next day's allowance before you've had breakfast.
The odd small trade on your own account is a reasonable compromise. Keeping it at tiny size is what makes it a test rather than a habit.

Watch-only on funded for Asia is the right hard line. Personal can take a tiny sweep-reclaim just before London; funded does not need late-night ideas.
Asia is mapping and calendar work for me more than a hunting ground.

The point about Asia not being automatically dead is a good one. The useful part is to separate the two kinds of Asian session: the quiet ones where the range is mostly noise, and the ones where Tokyo data or a Chinese headline moves the yen or the Australian dollar. A simple test before the session is whether anything scheduled affects the pair you are watching. If not, mapping the range for London is the job. If yes, the session itself may offer a trade, and the London sweep logic becomes less reliable.
