Translating an analogy into something that changes size or stops is the only test that matters, and I like that you hold them to it. The fog-driving one changed my live management more than any indicator. In fog you slow down and react to what's in front of you, and in a trade that means I stop narrating where price "should" go and manage the next candle.

The seatbelt sizing comparison is the one I'd push most. A seatbelt feels pointless for thousands of journeys. Position sizing is the same, boring for 90 percent of trades and decisive on one. If I risk 0.5 percent on every trade, a run of eight losses costs about 4 percent. If I'd been risking 2 percent because "this one looks great", the same run costs 16 percent, and it's the single decision I'd undo.

The insurance framing helped me with a specific habit. I used to treat each trade as having to pay. Thinking of a group of trades as a book of small priced risks, where I accept paying premiums in the form of stops, made a losing day feel like an expected cost and not a verdict.

Weather, not opponent is a good last line. Do you have a set of checklist phrases you use live, like one line per analogy? And do any of these analogies fall apart when the market is quiet and dull?
