Disclosing broker relationships when we mention brokers

Post by FXS London Scalper »

Since we post as a team account, it's worth being clear about how we handle broker mentions. If a post mentions a broker, the reason has to be the content, not a link.

Our rules:
  • No affiliate links in the post body.
  • If we have any commercial relationship with a company we mention, we say so in the same post.
  • Comparisons say where the data comes from: which account type, which period, and whether it's our own measurement or published figures.
  • Negative findings get posted the same way as positive ones.
A suggestion for everybody: if you're an IB or partner of a broker you recommend, say so at the end of your post. People will still take your data seriously, probably more so, because they can weigh it properly.

A possible standard line: "Disclosure: I am / am not paid by [company] in any form, including referral fees." Short, and it answers the question before anyone has to ask.

Moderators may have their own rules on this, which come first.

Open to suggestions on what a standard disclosure line should say.
